Have you been following what’s going on with the current election? What issues are important to you? Do you feel that your voice is being represented?

For tonight’s #MillennialTalk, we’ll be focusing on issues that are important to Millennials. We’re going to have a lively discussion with the following guests:

Cliston Brown- @clistonbrown

Cliston Brown is a politics columnist for the New York Observer and a communications executive based in San Francisco. He speaks frequently to industry groups on the state of U.S. politics.

Cliston was previously Director of Communications for a senior Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives and also the lead Washington DC communicator for two leading national insurance associations. He spearheaded the “Elections Matter” campaign for the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI) during the 2012 election cycle.

Representative David Kerner- @davidmkerner

Rep. Dave Kerner (D – West Palm Beach) is a former Police Officer, Special Prosecutor, and current Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee in the Florida House of Representatives. In 2012, at the age of twenty-eight, Dave Kerner was elected by nearly 70% of the voters to represent the 87th legislative district. He was subsequently reelected in 2014.

Dave is the recipient of sixteen legislative awards, including three-time Sheriff’s Association Legislative Award, Florida Bar Legislative Award, Junior League Legislator of the Year Award, Statewide Democrat of the Year Award, and Women’s Political Caucus Legislative Award. In his two terms in the legislature, Rep. Kerner  has worked extensively on criminal justice and gun related legislation.

Katrina Jørgensen- @veribatim

Katrina Jørgensen is the Chairman of the South Carolina Federation of Young Republicans and formerly served as International Outreach Committee Chair and Communication Committee Chair for the Young Republican National Federation. Katrina’s background is in communications, previously directing the work of the Syrian American Medical Society, and advising other international NGOs on media and outreach.

After graduation, she owned her own online marketing company, Veribatim, focused on new media and reaching Millennials. In 2009, she wrote a book advising Republicans on how to use technology to reach younger voters, by studying the strategies employed by Obama’s presidential campaign and has continued in journalism since.
