Q1 @Internqueen Millennials are known as job hoppers. How long do you advise Millennials to stick with their first job?

A1: I advise young people stay put for at least 1 year! ‪#MillennialTalk

A1: If u haven’t been at a job for at least 1 yr – it’s going 2 be hard for an employer 2 write you a solid letter of rec ‪#MillennialTalk

A1: They say people change jobs every 3 years on average these days – shows the importance of NETWORKING!!! ‪#MillennialTalk

Q2 @Internqueen How can Millennials make their resumes stand out? 

A2: Make your resume stand out by incorporating buzz words from the job posting  ‪#MillennialTalk

A3: My rules 4 success r confidence, going outside comfort zone, executing big, handling rejection, & balance! ‪#MillennialTalk

A3: 2 succeed at work – you must be detail oriented, manage your time, prioritize, maximize your potential…the list goes on! ‪#MillennialTalk

Q4 @internqueen What are networking rules both internally and externally in the workplace?

A4: Some networking rules: understand relationships in the office. Who knows whom? How do they know each other? ‪#MillennialTalk

A4: Be aware of the office politics but don’t get wrapped up in them. Do your personal best each day. ‪#MillennialTalk

 Q5 @Internqueen How can we Deal with Difficult Bosses and/or Co-Workers?

 A5: If your boss or co-worker is in a bad mood – don’t let it affect you. You can’t change them. But you control you. ‪#MillennialTalk

A5: Your relationships in the office will change & develop over time – don’t get too caught up in the day-2-day. ‪#MillennialTalk

A5: Don’t burn bridges w/ people, don’t talk smack about people – it’s a long career – your paths will cross again!  ‪#MillennialTalk

Q6 @Internqueen How can we manage your time at work so that you don’t always feel “so busy?”

Q7 @Internqueen How can we channel our inner entrepreneur within a corporate environment?

A7: You don’t have 2 run your own business 2 think like an entrepreneur – you can act like one within your company ‪#MillennialTalk

A7: Before you pitch your own ideas @ work you must be excelling at your own job. Try to connect something you are passionate about to a goal of the company.‪#MillennialTalk

A7: Understand the goals of your boss and your company so pitch ideas that make your boss look good. ‪#MillennialTalk

Q8 @internqueen to control your spending and personal finances during your first job?

A8: ‪@AlexaVonTobel says you should only spend approx 30% of your monthly income on rent! ‪#MillennialTalk

A8: Bring your lunch, learn to say NO, skip the dinners – eat at home – meet people 4 drinks, create a budget ‪#MillennialTalk

Q9 @internqueen How to handle asking for raises and promotions AND how to handle NOT getting the raises and promotions that you want

A9: When you ask for a raise or promotion – be specific. Know what you want. Understand the answer might be NO. ‪#MillennialTalk

A9: If your boss says no 2 a promotion 2day – ask when you can discuss again. Having a plan will make u feel better. ‪#MillennialTalk

Q10 @internqueen do you maintain a Work/Life Balance?

Q10: Don’t say YES to everything. Prioritize the people who are important to you. Give yourself an hour per day to “shut off”. ‪#MillennialTalk

Q11 @internqueen When is an internship worth it and how do you feel about non paid internships?

A11:  In 2014, repeat after me, INTERNSHIPS R WORTH IT 🙂 They r a solution 4 young people who want 2 land jobs after college. ‪#MillennialTalk
