Crispy Chickpeas

This is absolutely positively my favorite appetizer to make for a party! My favorite type of recipe is simple, delicious, and foolproof so once I discovered this tasty treat I was hooked. It is such versatile recipe, too! I usually use just salt, pepper, and cumin, but you can really use any spices you like such as paprika, oregano, or a dash of cayenne! The Prep takes just minutes so you can easily toss it together and go back to enjoying your party!

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 50 minutes

Ingredient:

1 19-ounce can chickpeas

2 tablespoons olive oil

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon cumin

pinch of pepper

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Drain the chickpeas, rinse with water, and pat them dry to remove as much water as possible. Pour chickpeas into a medium size bowl, and toss with oil, salt, cumin, and pepper. Arrange chickpeas in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are lightly browned and crispy, about 50 minutes. Let cool before serving.

  1. This was GREAT! We are baking up the Vegetable Tian tormroow. I usually don’t bake in the summer but this looks worth turning on the oven for. 😉 Thanks so much for posting. First time here and the step-by-step format with photos makes these drop-dead simple. I’ve shared this link with several friends.
