5 Ways to Save Money on Travel this Summer Season

Even if you haven’t planned your trip yet, don’t worry, you can still save money on traveling this summer by following these tips.

1. Be open to traveling at unpopular times. I do this all the time and it works! That 6:30am flight will always be cheaper than the 2:30 pm flight because it is inconvenient and no one wants to fly at that time, but it will save you money!

2. Travel to peak areas in the off season. For example, Martha’s Vineyard is very popular during the month of August through Labor Day, so go in May or July instead. This also applies to travel anywhere. If it is a popular place or resort, see when the off peak times are and travel then.

3. Get the package deal. On international travel it always pays off to book your flight and hotel accommodations together. You can save as much as 30% just by doing this.

4. Think about going all-inclusive. There is nothing like traveling and knowing that every aspect of your vacation has been taken care of. The all-inclusive deal itself has gotten an upgrade over the years to include spa treatments, butlers and chefs, to high-end villas and penthouses. This is a great way to create a fabulous trip for one package deal.

5. They say fish and house guests go bad after three days. I apply this to vacations too. Get the most out of your vacation by scaling back a few days. Instead of going for seven days, go for five. Instead of 14 days go for 10 days. This way you can travel, stay, and experience your destination in a manner that makes you comfortable.

Remember, this is your vacation. Plan it and enjoy it the way you want to. Just keep these tips in mind so that you can take your vacation without breaking the bank!
