Headbands of Hope

At 19 years old Jessica Ekstrom was pulling her hair back into a pony-tail when she thought about the thousands of girls around the world losing their hair due to chemotherapy. This gave her the idea to create Headbands of Hope, which empowers young cancer patients with headbands to help them feel beautiful even with no hair. For every headband purchased, one is given to a girl with cancer and $1 is donated to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fund life-saving childhood cancer research. Jessica has distributed thousands of colorful headbands to patients across the country. Headbands of Hope aims to start with awareness and end with a cure. See: website
