Must-See Movies This Season

Must see movies this season

Blockbuster classics like Jurassic World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mad Max: Fury Road and Straight Outta Compton have already made 2015 a great year for movies. Even though the movie season is winding down, there are still some great films that have yet to be released (and no, Jaws 19 is not one of them).
Let’s take a look at the movies coming out in the next few months that you should definitely spend $13 — not including popcorn, soda, etc. — to see in theaters.

1. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (in theaters now)

It’s no surprise Maze Runner got a sequel after the 2014 box office hit grossed over $102 million domestically. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials takes place minutes after the first movie ends, and Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) has to fight the evil organization known as WCKD. This action-packed film is in theaters now so stop reading and go see it! Why are you still looking at this screen?

2. Spectre (November 6, 2015)

The latest installment in the James Bond (Daniel Craig) franchise is on pace to break the records that were previously set by Skyfall. This film has been described as having phenomenal stunt work and a phenomenal opening sequence. If you enjoy the James Bond franchise, then you will certainly love this film.
Plus there will be shooting. Lots and lots of shooting.

3. Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 (November 20, 2015)

The popular Hunger Games movie franchise will finally conclude with Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2. The war between District 13 and The Capitol will finally come to a head as Katniss, played by Jennifer Lawrence, will face off with President Snow (Donald Sutherland).

You won’t want to miss the stunning conclusion to the Hunger Games story.

4. The Night Before (November 20, 2015)

A Seth Rogen comedy.

Wait, that wasn’t enough to convince you to go see it? Well it should. Rogen’s latest film is about three friends who have celebrated Christmas together for fourteen years after the death of Ethan’s (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) parents. Hilarity ensues as the three friends celebrate together for the last time.

5. The Good Dinosaur (November 25, 2015)

Get the tissue box ready.

Pixar’s newest original story is about an animated dinosaur that befriends a young child. That’s right, you just read the words Pixar, animated dinosaur, and young child in the same sentence. I’m already starting to tear up.

The animation in The Good Dinosaur looks superb, and this film is definitely one you should watch.

6. Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens (December 18, 2015)

You can’t have a must-see movie list without Star Wars. It’s logically impossible.
Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens is already breaking records, as the film has sold the most tickets on the first day of sales. Loyal Star Wars fans have many questions after the release of the first full-length trailer. Where is Luke Skywalker? What ship is Rey exploring? What kind of car would each character drive?

Go see the new Star Wars, and you’ll find out.

7. The Revenant (December 25, 2015)

The Revenant accrued a lot of attention after the release of its first trailer. Not only does this film star Leonardo DiCaprio, but Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, who is well known for his work on Birdman, also directs it. DiCaprio’s character, Hugh Glass, is left for dead in the wild and must find ways to survive.

The cinematography is beautiful, and Inarritu makes the audience feel like they are a part of the action.

8. Deadpool (February 12, 2016)

Deadpool fans can finally celebrate! The “Merc with a Mouth” is getting its own feature film.

Not only does Marvel’s newest film look good, but it’s also ridiculously funny. Cast members such as Ryan Reynolds and T.J. Miller are giving Deadpool fans what they have been demanding for years.

Just whatever you do, Marvel, do NOT make the suit animated.

9. Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice (March 25, 2016)

D.C. Comics’ biggest superheroes will collide in the same movie? Yeah, I’m in.
Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice is the perfect movie to kick off D.C.’s cinematic universe. Other than Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, Marvel movies have essentially dominated the superhero movie scene. Now D.C. will look to turn that around.

Go See These Movies. Do it!

Unless you want to live under a cultural rock, you should go see these movies after they are released. These films will take storytelling and cinematography to another level.
