Today's AWESOME moment!

I just wanted to share something that happened to me today. I am so proud to have been the Millennial Spokesperson for “U by Kotex.” But, it is even cooler that my experience could help someone write a kick butt research paper!

  Hello Chelsea,

Kotex informed me that you had worked with U. I am writing a paper on how menstrual product companies are using social media sites to market themselves and promote brand awareness. I was hoping you would answer questions for a research paper I am writing for a class here at Marymount Manhattan College.

Questions:

1. Do you believe that your work for U by Kotex is helping to promote menstrual education and combat misconceptions of menstruation?

2. Do you believe you work is helping make the topic of menstruation less tabooed?

3. What is the most interesting aspect of your job?

I hear you’re fabulous and now BFFs with Anderson Cooper and Tyra. haha I’m quite impressed and intrigued.

Thanks for your time and help! Good luck with everything.

Hi Noelle,

1. I absolutely think that the “U by Kotex” campaign helped spread awareness to many girls, especially in underprivileged communities. Many misconceptions about the menstrual cycle were recorded during the surveys and research before the product hit the shelves. Many women were not well informed on their own body and “U by Kotex” strived to not only provide a great product but also educate their buyers.

2. “U by Kotex’s” main initiative was to help make the menstrual cycle a less taboo topic and an easier discussion amongst people today, this was our main reason for appearing on the Tyra show. I think the marketing and branding of the product, the black box and neon colored wrapping, helped to make it more edgy and modern and less embarrassing to buy or carry in your purse.

3. There were many interesting aspects to being The Millennial Spokesperson for, “U by Kotex.” Being a big part of the making, advertising, and branding of such a huge product for Kotex was really incredible. I really had a part in every detail that went into the making of what is on the shelves today. I love that I was able to bring Kotex products to Africa with me where I distributed sanitary hygiene napkins to women in the slums. “U by Kotex” was also linked to an organization, “Girls for a Change” and working and meeting with some of the girls was amazing! And of course the media moments like appearing on the Tyra Show, working with Khloe Kardashian, going on magazine publication tours, and being featured on Teen Kids News, an extra plus!

I HOPE THIS HELPS!!! SO GLAD YOU REACHED OUT TO ME…GOOD LUCK.
