Chelsea's FAVS for Getting Summer Ready!!

I am SO excited for this week’s episode of, The Chelsea Krost Show.
We are talking Fitness, Fashion, and Beauty with 3 of the editors from Self Magazine.

While studying Nutrition at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition I have learned many great Food and Lifestyle alternatives that are so great to know for this summer.

Here are some of my personal Favorites for summer.

Fitness:

I have been all about Yoga, Pilates, and Spinning for the past several months. I am a gym rat and LOVE to feel strong and fit. But, I realized that I was not only getting bored of the machines at the gym I was also getting bulky. Because I focused most on, “Burning Calories” I never considered Yoga to be an alternate fitness option. Well, I was very wrong. Yoga has really done wonders for my body and my mind. Yoga has helped decrease my stress, given me more mental clarity, helped my flexability, motivates me to eat clean, and to stay active. Yoga can indirectly assist with your weight loss goals, which is why a few studies have shown that people who do yoga on a regular basis are thinner than people who do not. I have truly seen a great difference in my arms and legs, which I always felt were the hardest to tone. I highly recommend investing in Vinyassa Yoga DVD’s. The DVDs allows you to do yoga on your own time, in the comfort of your own home, and during your travels this summer.

Fashion:
When it comes to fashion here is my motto:

Fashion staples – items that will never go out of style are worth splurging on and pair the staples with great less expensive items and fabulous accessories.

At Home Beauty Remedies:
I love love love doing at home remedies. They are affordable, fun, and use fresh and easy to find ingredients.

Skin:
It is so hard to avoid popping those red juicy pimples. Try applying Visine Eye drops to the pimple several times per day to reduce the swelling and redness. If you cannot resist and you chose to pop your pimple apply a Rubbing Alcohol swab directly to the pimple. This will help kill bacteria, seal the zit, and scab faster.

My favorite at home mask:
Unknown

  • ½ of Avocado – Avocados are rich with vitamin A, which helps to remove dead skin cells from your body. They also contain an amino acid known as glutamine, which cleans and protects your skin from environmental damage. The antioxidants in avocados help to get rid of toxins that promote premature aging and wrinkling of the skin.
  • 1 teaspoon of Plain Yogurt – When topically applied to the skin, yogurt will help moisturize, fight acne, prevent premature aging, relieve sunburn and reduce discoloration. It’s an all-around beauty multi-tasker.
  • ½ teaspoon of Honey – The chemical makeup of honey gives the substance properties that can speed healing and prevent infection. The smooth, thick texture also keeps moisture close to the skin, which can help your complexion become supple and glowing. Skin Care Resource Center reports that current research has determined the effectiveness of honey as a natural form of sunscreen, to protect the skin from sun damage and premature wrinkling.

  • These fresh ingredients are also great to use for At Home Hair Remedies as well!
