how to intergrate more travel into your life in 2016

It’s about that time to start working on your New Year’s list of resolutions you wish to accomplish in 2016. When looking back at your experiences in 2015, is there anything that you really enjoyed that you want to continue into 2016 or maybe some things you wish you could do differently? For some, that may mean losing weight, writing more letters or getting a new job. For wanderlust lovers like myself, that means thinking of ways to integrate more travel in my life this upcoming year.

There are hundreds of ways to make traveling a priority in 2016, but here are three fun and different ways to do so:

Roadtrippers — This website and app is perfect for planning a roadtrip that you’ve been meaning to take for years. When you plug in your starting location and your ending destination, it populates with fun things to see and do along the route, including hotels, attractions, restaurants, natural wonders, camping/RV accommodations, shopping, as well as weird stuff and points of interest. This eliminates all the hassle of Googling a million things and takes the stress out of planning every detail before you even hop in the car. Grab your friends, pack your bags, blast the tunes and set out for an adventure across the country.

Bicycle Adventures — This bicycling tour company has packaged cycle-filled vacations planned to areas throughout the United States, as well as other international destinations. Their packages range from “Family” which is an action packed tour for all ages and abilities, to their “Epic” package which includes 60+ miles of cycling per day through incredible scenery. Each package comes with it’s own lodging, dining, bicycle, travel, and guide options, so be sure to explore the entire website to find the best fit for you. If you can’t wait for 2016 to get started cycling, they are hosting a Black Friday promotion where you can win a trip to Bryce and Zion National Parks, as well as other prizes. All you have to do is share your photo on how you plan to bike on Black Friday on Instagram using the hashtag #BikeBlackFriday and tag @bikeadventures. So make it a priority during 2016 to get outdoors and travel the road-less-pedaled.

Remote year — If you’re a freelance remote worker or someone who has always wished you could travel while working, then 2016 should be your Remote Year. According to their website, “Remote Year brings together a community of 75 professionals from across the globe to spend a year, working, traveling, and exploring 12 cities around the world.” Spending one month in each city, the community will connect with local cultures and business ecosystems, forming lifelong, borderless personal and professional relationships along the way.” How sweet is that?! There is an application process that one must go through if interested, as well as a fee. This is a great option for remote workers who wish they could travel more but don’t want to do so alone.
