5 Books to Feed Your Girl Boss Soul

Reading about successful and driven women has become one of my favorite things to do. If you’re like me and constantly need to be flooded with advice on how to become a successful boss one day, then you definitely need to read these books to feed your soul and ambition:

1. “#GirlBoss” by Sophia Amoruso

With “#GirlBoss” as the title, of course this made the top of the list! Amoruso takes us on her unconventional journey of turning her hobby into a brand. As founder, CEO and creative director of Nasty Gal, she is the perfect person to supply readers with plenty of advice on how to become a #bosslady.

2. “Leave Your Mark” by Aliza Licht

Licht started as a fashion magazine intern organizing accessory closets and worked her way up and into a position at DKNY as a senior vice president of global communications. She also is the tweeter behind the infamous DKNY PR Girl on Twitter. Her book is a page by page mentorship book, detailing how to land your dream job and kill it in your career. A must read for any future girl boss.

3. “Lean In” by Sheryl Sandberg

As the COO of Facebook, Sandberg’s book and community sheds light on the lack of women in business and political leadership roles. She encourages women to lean in when at the table, speak up about issues, and establish themselves as forces to be reckoned with in meetings. You will definitely be inspired to go after what you want after reading her book.

4. “Thrive” by Arianna Huffington

Huffington has built a well-respected media empire as the co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post. She has written many great books, but “Thrive” really answers the questions many women ask themselves “can we have it all?” and “what does having it all look like?” Every page is inspirational and will encourage you to create a purposeful life as the best version of yourself.

5. “Yes Please” by Amy Poehler

Poehler is a queen of comedy and a kick-butt role model for young girls and women. She’s not only a comedian, but she’s also a writer, actress, producer and director. Her book if filled with wit, humor, personal stories, and advice. She is an example of how things won’t always come easy, so being persistent, determined, positive, and even funny can help you accomplish your goals. These are also very important traits of a girl boss.
